Day 7 - Guinness Store House

On our first Sunday we went to the city to have a look for some souvenirs.
Meanwhile Christof got his tattoo of the Irish harp.

After that we all went together to the Guinness Store House where we had a look at the manufacturing of the well-known beer.

Previous the today's museum was the first factory where Guinness beer was produced.

In the museum it is shown which ingredients are used, how the beer is brewed and therefore the different techniques, how it was stored and how the beer was advertised.
All of these different steps you could see on different floors. At the highest floor we had a brilliant view over the whole city of Dublin.

Here are some of the best impressions:

Our first day at work

Today was our first day at work in our company "Joe Duffy Motors". Yesterday we arrived in Dublin and got to know our apartments. After that we went to the well-known Market Bar  to have dinner all together. We all were very full afterwards. It was very tasty and I recommend to eat at the Market Bar to everybody who visits Dublin! Firstly, each of us got to know his or her department. I'm in the backoffice at BMW, Dengiz is in the accounts of BMW and Max is at the Audi dealership as a sales trainee. We all were welcomed very nice and friendly. We are surprised about their strict but helpful and funny way to explain us our tasks. In our common lunch break we went to McDonalds of course 💀. Now we are tired but also excited for the next days and weeks. 😉 Here is where we will work for the next 3 weeks:    And here we had a great dinner yesterday:           Hannah Müller

Bloody Monday - Day 8

Today was just a normal day at work. Taking photos, checking Prices and so on. In comparison to other days it was a bit calm. Mike and Clarita just have done much of the preparation work of a Junior sales assistant on Saturday so that there weren"t so much to do. They just show me their daily work/Business because I"m only 14 days at the car dealership. It would not make any sense if they give me a certain task to do during the days.   I just saw a meeting of the bosses of the Joe Duffy"s Group in the meeting room. This is near my workplace and I shouldn"t sit there because they could look at me, of course I was doing totally nothing . The car on the left side is an Audi SQ7. This is a rarely sold car in this Dealership because the most cars they get and sell are SE"s. SE stands for Standard Edition and contains the basic and appropiate features a car should have. They mostly get these ones because of the smaller population of Irelan...

D-Day!

Total was a special day for Dengiz because he got a chorus of praise for his work in the finances. I think he has the hardest department of all. Working with Excel and difficult calculations aren't as easy as you may think. In contrast I'm helping Aislign with the disposals for BMW. It is way more interesting than I thought!  We have to do the change of vehicle ownership (sell/purchase), the tax and insurance registration for the demo cars, to check the prices in the system, to open files for delivered cars and to check the necessary stock paperwork (-> purchase invoice, signed appraisal, RF 105, original VLC, HPI check, SIMI, Key Read, deposit receipt, warranty, handover checklist, safety check). All in all much office work! But I like those differences to my usual work at home. Hannah Müller
