Last regular Day - 17th

This is it - the last regular Day at Audi North Dublin is over. It"s astonishing as fast it passed. I remember the first day at work when we didn"t know where to go and how it will be. In comparison to the other days it was a day without long walks around and in the dealership. Mike had a day off, I only did enlargements with Gary and checked online which car is sold or not.    Enlargements mean bringing receipt books to the accounts of BMW, handing over the post to the reception and getting some special food for the waiting area.  This is just a typical product video from the "Audi North" website. It shows a popular model in Ireland, the Audi A4 Saloon. The Speaker is Pepe Keeley, a sales executive. Other sales people in this Audi branch speak even faster than he does, they"re nearly as an auctioneer. It"s different to Germany because the german videos have a certain and silent music in the background. I would like to post my own product video but

Different day, different experience

Today I was helping Luca from the BMW sales because Aislign had nothing to do for me. He showed me what he has to do every day:  call potential and past customers, make appointments with them, show them the cars, do test drives etc. In the afternoon Luca, Paulina, Calvin and me took a car to pick up a used car at the airport. On our way I almost had to vomit because of Luca's ambitious driving. I was glad when we had finally reached our meeting point. Paulina, Calvin and me took the used one to get it through the NCT (TÜV) check. Therefore we drove to a NCT centre in Ballymun. We were late for our appointment there but we had luck and the car went through the NCT without any problems. After that we had to drive the car back to the airport because it can't be delivered without the NCT. Everything went well in the end and Luca picked us up at the airport again. Although I had to stay way longer than usual I think it was an interesting experience. Hannah Mü

Tag 15

#Ireland #Business Viel Spaß beim Lesen Dengiz Corevski

14th day - Trinity Collage

In comparison to yesterday it was just a lazy day. After we got a good night"s sleep we drove to the city about noon to get some souvenirs and to visit the Trinity College. We "discovered" the Trinity College to get an impression of the historical buliding. It just looks like a film set of Harry Potter. Dengiz bought himself a hoody.   Furthermore we kept the house for example doing the laundry and ironing. We tried the laundry card for the first time and we detected that it"s very easy to use. You just have to buy it from the vending machine in the inner courtyard, scan the QR-Code of the washing machine, choose the right programme and press START. After the wash you could also use the tumble dryer with the card. 13th day: Wicklow Mountains

Today was the best day I think... so far! At first we visited the Wicklow Mountains where we had the most impressive view on the countryside of Dublin. We saw just a few people while we were driving in our rented car over the bumpy roads along the mountains. Our first stop was at the Powerscourt Waterfall . It is the tallest waterfall in Ireland at a height about 120 metres.             After that we drove around the mountains to see the Wicklow Mountains National Park . Every tourist has to see those ancients mines  and the old cemetery . Even if it seems to be boring at first, the history behind such old stones can be fascinating.   The Upper Lake is also located in this national park. Although it was very windy it was good to take a short rest at the water. All the problems and stress seem to be far away if you are enjoying such a view.       Our last station was the sea . Even once we had to see the sea that surrounds Dub

12. Endlich Wochenende!

Also heute mal ein "ruhiger Tag"! Morgen werden wir uns den Mountains widmen. Bis dahin Dengiz Corevski

11.

After we woke up we were annoyed because of having only cold water so that at first only a small shower had to reach.   After this Dengiz" anger continued as his shirt, his tie and his jacket didn"t want to cooperate . He was kind of "fucked up". It was a normal Day for me, was just putting some prices/priceboards on/into cars and get to know how you advertise a car on the website. This is done in a few moments because the Systems (the Advertising tool and AS 400, an invoice system) are linked. If you want to type in the "NOW - Price" you just have to use the Registration number and the form is completed. Of course you have to type in the correct specs like "Variant", colour, tyre, Inch information, features etc. The "Audi North" Car Dealership  is promoting the new Spiderman Movie, coming up to the cinemas on July 5. This car is presented at the Showroom at the moment but it will drive around Dublin in form of test drives, t

Our accommodation

We all have written a lot about what we did at work or what we experienced in our leisure time. But I think we should also tell you about the place where we spend most of our time: the Gateway Student Village. The Student Village is located in the district called Ballymun. It is not that far to Joe Duffy Motors. It takes us about 30 minutes to get there. So I think this is really comfortable! Our apartment has 3 bedrooms. Which means that we all have our own room to recover. Every bedroom has its own small bathroom with a toilet, a washbasin and a shower/tub. There is a large living room and a pragmatic kitchen that is easy to use. Luckily, we have a huge balcony. If the wheater is not cloudy, you can even see the mountains! In addition our accommodation has a laundry room downstairs in the basement. We used it already a few times and it is well-apointed and won't take too much time. All in all I like our accommodation and we all feel very comfortable here. I think

Great day | Day 9

The Tuesday was a great day for me. Today I learned some more stuff at work. I must control the invoices and check the statements. In the break we went to the "Shopping centre" near Joe Duffy and look for some things. Further I met Gavin Hydes the Boss of the Joe Duffy Group. He's a very nice person. Dengiz Corevski

Bloody Monday - Day 8

Today was just a normal day at work. Taking photos, checking Prices and so on. In comparison to other days it was a bit calm. Mike and Clarita just have done much of the preparation work of a Junior sales assistant on Saturday so that there weren"t so much to do. They just show me their daily work/Business because I"m only 14 days at the car dealership. It would not make any sense if they give me a certain task to do during the days.   I just saw a meeting of the bosses of the Joe Duffy"s Group in the meeting room. This is near my workplace and I shouldn"t sit there because they could look at me, of course I was doing totally nothing . The car on the left side is an Audi SQ7. This is a rarely sold car in this Dealership because the most cars they get and sell are SE"s. SE stands for Standard Edition and contains the basic and appropiate features a car should have. They mostly get these ones because of the smaller population of Ireland in comparison to

Day 7 - Guinness Store House

On our first Sunday we went to the city to have a look for some souvenirs. Meanwhile Christof got his tattoo of the Irish harp.   After that we all went together to the Guinness Store House where we had a look at the manufacturing of the well-known beer.   Previous the today's museum was the first factory where Guinness beer was produced.   In the museum it is shown which ingredients are used, how the beer is brewed and therefore the different techniques, how it was stored and how the beer was advertised. All of these different steps you could see on different floors. At the highest floor we had a brilliant view over the whole city of Dublin.        Here are some of the best impressions:                                                  One of the essential ingredients: Water                                                                    How the beer is stored to tire:                 With this railr

Day 6 | Dublin city

Today it was a great day. In the morning we had a delicious breakfast. After that, we went to the city of Dublin. Unfortunately it was already late, so we couldn't do more things. Finally, our last stop was Chinese food and it was so brilliant! Dengiz :-)

Made it ! - Day 5

This was the last working day of the week, we made it to the Weekend ! Dengiz just suggested to make a "washing up" Plan as an Excel table containing high-level formulas. He was getting an expert with all these stuff during this week.  My work is a bit more varied, every morning you don"t know exactly what to do and in which order.  Today I did Price cross-checking, i.e. I compared the prices of the stock list with the ones on the Homepage (Demo Audi and used ones). The smallest typing mistakes can make a difference of thousands of euros. There are lot of new and used cars which are waiting to get ready to be prsented on the Internet. Many of them have the same colours and features so that it is of course necessary to differ/separate them from each other with key number, registration number, chassis number, commision number, type and price. Mike just said that the whole "Audi North" car dealership has only the aim to sale cars and every department is

D-Day!

Total was a special day for Dengiz because he got a chorus of praise for his work in the finances. I think he has the hardest department of all. Working with Excel and difficult calculations aren't as easy as you may think. In contrast I'm helping Aislign with the disposals for BMW. It is way more interesting than I thought!  We have to do the change of vehicle ownership (sell/purchase), the tax and insurance registration for the demo cars, to check the prices in the system, to open files for delivered cars and to check the necessary stock paperwork (-> purchase invoice, signed appraisal, RF 105, original VLC, HPI check, SIMI, Key Read, deposit receipt, warranty, handover checklist, safety check). All in all much office work! But I like those differences to my usual work at home. Hannah Müller

Day 3 | It's amazing!

Our first days at work went very well! I am at the finance department at Joe Duffy-BMW. Since day one I have an own office and my own password for the computer. I have to work with Excel and Word. In addition I have to deal with invoices and credits. It makes me totally fun and the colleagues are very nice. All in all it makes a lot of fun to work for Joe Duffy. Later on this evening, we are going to the city of Dublin. :-D Dengiz Corevski

Day 2

Today was the first regular day at the "Audi North Dublin" dealership in Ireland. The colleagues are very friendly and the way they explain everything is understandable. We always work together and I learn something new all the time. I took photos and did some price boards and price stickers for the used and new cars and drove cars from A to B. Driving in Ireland is completely new for us because of left-hand traffic, at first I was overwhelmed what I should do. But after that its just like driving in Germany, just on the other side. The understanding problems are getting smaller than yesterday, nevertheless it"s quite hard to follow the irish english. To sum up the experience till now there I would say that I am satisfied to get such a working place.      M.H.

Our first day at work

Today was our first day at work in our company "Joe Duffy Motors". Yesterday we arrived in Dublin and got to know our apartments. After that we went to the well-known Market Bar  to have dinner all together. We all were very full afterwards. It was very tasty and I recommend to eat at the Market Bar to everybody who visits Dublin! Firstly, each of us got to know his or her department. I'm in the backoffice at BMW, Dengiz is in the accounts of BMW and Max is at the Audi dealership as a sales trainee. We all were welcomed very nice and friendly. We are surprised about their strict but helpful and funny way to explain us our tasks. In our common lunch break we went to McDonalds of course 💀. Now we are tired but also excited for the next days and weeks. 😉 Here is where we will work for the next 3 weeks:    And here we had a great dinner yesterday:           Hannah Müller
